Basic Carrom Rules

Carrom is a fun and simple board game that you can enjoy with friends and family. Let’s learn the basic rules in an easy way!

🎯 Objective of the Game

The goal is to pocket all your pieces (black or white) before your opponent and win the game.


🧩 Game Setup

  • There are 19 pieces:
    • 9 white
    • 9 black
    • 1 red (called the queen)
  • The queen is placed in the center
  • Other pieces are arranged in a circle around it

  • Players take turns
  • Use the striker to hit the pieces
  • Flick the striker with your finger from the baseline

  • You can only hit the striker from your side
  • If you pocket a piece, you get another turn
  • If you miss, your turn ends

πŸ‘‘ Queen Rule (Simple Version)

  • If you pocket the queen, you must pocket another piece next
  • If you don’t, the queen goes back to the center

❌ Fouls (Things to Avoid)

  • Pocketing the striker
  • Missing all pieces
  • Shooting incorrectly

If you commit a foul, one of your pocketed pieces may go back to the board.
