Getting started with carrom is simple, as the game requires only a few essential items. Whether you’re playing casually at home or preparing for competitive matches, having the right setup makes a big difference.

Basic Requirements

  • Carrom Board – The main playing surface with four corner pockets
  • Carrom Men – Typically 9 black, 9 white, and 1 red (queen)
  • Striker – Used to hit the carrom men
  • Powder – Helps reduce friction and ensures smooth movement

Playing Setup

A flat and stable surface (like a table or stand) is important to keep the board level. Players sit around the board, usually two or four participants, depending on the format.

Optional Add-ons

  • Board Stand for comfortable play
  • Good Lighting to clearly see angles and shots
  • Scoreboard for competitive matches
